(Alan Polidos goal that wrapped it up)
Mexico’s U23 team beat Turkey in the finals of the Toulon tournament in a gear up to the London games a few weeks time. I waited to write about this tournament because I figured a tournament that is of 40 minute halves isn’t worth me writing about every game but instead look back at it as a whole and see the positives and negatives.
First Mexicos run. They played five games in ten days to win the championship. On the road to the cup they beat Morocco in the first game, lost to the host team France in the second and beat Belarus in their final group game to wrap up third. In the semis they beat a very game Netherlands team and in the finals they out classed Turkey 3-0.

Everyone at FingerTip Save would like to wish a happy birthday to the twenty four year old Manchester United player. With eyes as green as a soccer pitch, eyebrows that would make a Miss America jealous, and a smile that seems to melt every Mexican female heart from 8-80 he came bursting onto the senses before the 2010 world cup for his club team Chivas and was signed by World Power Man United right before the World Cup. There is more to his story but why would I tell all his story now and leave nothing to say for his twenty fifth birthday? Anyways Happy Birthday you green eyed baby faced assassin you.

(Torres Nilo going Mortal Kombat on everyone)
A goal in the 91 minute from Javier Chicharito Hernandez off a missed bicycle kick from a Bosnian defender gave Mexico the win in a rainy even played game in Chicago.
Mexico made three changes from its win vs Wales with Memo Ochoa in goal, Hugo Ayala in the Middle of the D and Jorge Torres Nilo starting out left with Salcido coming in the defensive mid. Bosnia to their credit seemed to bring a very competitive team that gave Mexico a great game.

The Colossal of Saint Ursula or as much of the world knows it El Estadio Azteca (Azteca Stadium) or for short El Azteca turns 46 today.
Opened on this day in 1966 and seating over 110,000 people The Azteca has so much history it should be a history course. It’s the home of Club America and the Mexican national team but its also hosted two world cups, an Olympics, a Fifa Confederations cup final and a Youth Fifa final as well as hosting Pope John Paul. Here at FingerTip Save are going to look back at some of these amazing historical moments…

(Yes Andres your prayers have been answered)
It was rumored that this move was agreed to during the January transfer window but on Wednesday Valencia will present its latest signing in the Mexican Andres Guardado from Deportivo La Coruna.

(The sweet taste of sweat)
In Mexico’s first game of five in the next two weeks they got the better of Wales winning 2-0 on a hot and humid day and where the pitch slowed everyone down.
Mexico from the start seemed to control the game as they came out with a makeshift line up but they were able to put their stamp on the game. Severo Meza made his Mexican debut on the right side of the defense and played a good game and much better than Enrique Perez did vs Columbia. Mezas cross in the 43rd minute that found Aldo de Nigris on the back post put Mexico in the lead and rightly so.
The second half Mexico controlled much of the game and you could tell the Wale players were getting tired. Pablo Barrera looked to finally be finding his groove down the right hand side of the mid and improved much greatly from the last game vs Columbia where he looked like absolute trash.

(oooooo I’m intimidated guys)
This is my first serious in-depth article so I’m excited.
With Euro just right around the corner (14 days away) it’s time to focus on the tournament and here at FingerTip Save we will start with giving you an over all look at the groups and ranking the teams 1-16. We will break down each group and each team in more detail in about a week so don’t worry about that. First though we will give you a quick appetizer on the teams and raking the groups 1-4 through the same FTS formula that we will use for ranking the teams 1-16. Lets begin shall we.
First off what is the FTS formula? The FTS (FingerTip Save) formula is my own way of deciding who the best teams are. Not using the stupid Fifa rankings but actually seeing the teams and knowing who’s hot who’s not who actually has a strong team. (Ex: Croatia is 8th in the world according to Fifa. In reality they aren’t the 8th best team in the world. They are the 6th best Euro team according to fifa. They are 9th in mine). So after we list the best teams in order 1-16 we’ll flip the order and give the best team the number 16 and the worst team 1. After this we will put them in their groups add up the numbers and BOOM! The groups are ranked and you know how hard each group is.

(The moment Cesc decided its time to move back to Spain)
What I can only assume is a candid moment of Theo Walcott, Cesc Fabregas, Bacary Sagna and Andrey Arshavin trying to remember a wild and crazy night and figure out why they’re in animal costumes.
So sure two of these players no longer play for Arsenal (I think Arsenal fans were only upset when Cesc left though) but lets not have details ruin such an amazing picture. Sit back drink it in and just ask yourself one question “What the fuck are they staring at?”
Happy Hump Day from your one man band here at FingerTip Save.

(Did they run out of orange on the away jersey and just used the first color in sight?)
The 2012 Barcelona jerseys have been released and I think it feels much to be desired. The home kit which is a classic blue and red striped shirt got a PSG feeling this year with only one weird misty red stripe in the middle. But that jersey looks like magic when compared to the away kits. Now Barca have been known for having very unique colored away jerseys that I feel probably is a way to show how they are very anti Madrid (All white, black and one other solid color) and anti establishment. This years jerseys though take the cake with a odd orange to yellow that looks like if a drunk kid got a little crazy on the finger painting.
On the bright side (besides the jersey color…. wait for it….. HEY-O! nailed it) for the teams who will play Barca when they wear those away jerseys is that they will now be able to stay awake with how bright those jerseys are as Barcelona try to pass them to sleep.
